Savyre Unicorns are a type of telepathic equine distinguished by it's characteristic markings and vast array of colors. The many hued coat can come in any variety of colors, and very rarely will a specimen be found with a single color. Savyre Unicorns may have the markings of many types of ungulates, ranging in different patterns and colors. Each unicorn will also be equipped with horns, single or more. The species temperate varies, as well. Personalities range from sweet natured to fiery spirit, the unicorns not tending to have characteristic behavior. However, all are very protective of the young, regardless of the parentage of the foal. The habitats preferred by the Savyre Unicorns are any open grounds, whether it be plains, desert, large meadow, or plateau. Some have been known to dwell in woodsy areas, though it isn't the ideal selection as favored grasses and vegetation are scarcer. Savyre Unicorns form groups of friends and family called Tribes. A tribe can consist of many unicorns, regardless of gender. Larger tribes are preferred over smaller tribes for the better safety associated with being in numbers. A new tribe may form when a pair of mated unicorns, or even a small group of friends and/or family members, wish to branch away from their current tribe. There must be at least one unicorn that will lead the tribe, male or female. Several others may share the responsibilities of leading, though there is only one dominant unicorn. A Savyre unicorn may choose to have only one mate. However, a stallion may also choose to select several mares as mates, as to assure that his genes will be passed on. Once mated, the stallion and mare will usually stay together, though separation isn't unheard-of. A mare is capable of having one to two foals, but the latter is uncommon. The foal will have a fate of being fostered out in the extended breeding to the parent's fosterer, or a new one. There is a strict naming rule in all Savyre Unicorns. Each Unicorn will be given two names that will either be chosen by the mother or the fosterer. The forename may be of any type, with an exception for human or pet names. The latter name is always descriptive, being based on markings, behavior, or other characteristics. Such an example of a complete name would be Kira Desertrunner. coming soon!
